Within the last twenty years, surrogacy has become a hotly debated topic and the practice brought with it several ethical dilemmas. Mankind believes that science and medicine have progress so far and we’re patting ourselves on the back for our “achievements”. We seem to have conveniently forgotten that the gestation in the womb of Mary and birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, was the first occurrence of Surrogacy. However, because the donor embryo was the Holy Spirit, we have difficulty in believing and accepting that. 2000 years later, surrogacy is an everyday occurrence, though the donor embryos come from materially wealthy Joe’s and Jane’s.
The surrogacy surrounding our Lord Jesus Christ’s immaculate conception must first be understood, its context with regards to crucifixion and resurrection, in order to have a slight inkling concerning Grace, and our Salvation. God is the only One who could determine when He was born in flesh and when He exited the physical realm, to execute His plan of Salvation for mankind. Without immaculate conception and surrogacy, there would have been no crucifixion and resurrection upon which our Faith rest. Not by our works, so that no man can boast, but by the Grace of God, the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus, therein lies our Salvation.
