Some people are of the opinion that once you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, then you are “born again”, and at the mention of the name of Jesus, miracles take place, which ninety-nine point nine per cent of the time does not happen. This might lead some to either doubt the existence of God or subscribe to the notion that God only listens to certain people (so called “men of God”), who are superior to mere mortals. Despite what scriptures says that there is only one Intercessor, that is Christ Jesus, not Paul formerly known as Saul of Tarsus, or Simon known as Peter or any other Saint or Virgin Mary or founder of some new-age religious denomination.
The use or mentioning of the name of Christ is aptly demonstrated by the event reported in Acts 19:13-16; Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15 One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.
Be careful, therefore, you miracle-worker, whether you believe that you have been sent by God, or simply because you believe in God. There is only one Miracle-worker, and only one Intercessor. Do not lead God’s flock astray. Every single sheep is important to Him. Not only does He have special punishment for those that leads His flock astray, He moves Heaven and Earth to bring back stray sheep to the fold. Glory be to God the Father, Glory be to God the Son, and Glory be to God the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, so it is now, and so shall it be forever more. Amen.
