John 16:13-15; But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
When we and or our religious leaders indulge in lies, be it the politically correct “white lies” or outright lies. And straight up incorrect interpretation of Scriptures, or the taking of Scripture out of context, to buttress falsehood, just as Satan did in the temptation of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is tantamount to testing God, dishonoring God.
“If our leaders are not good – if they’re evil – what does one do?” he asked his bishop. “I want to save my life, but not through lies.” (Franz Jägerstätter 1933)
Honor the Lord your God, we do not honor God with lies, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth
1 Samuel 2:30; Those who honor me I will honor.
