What a magnanimous God we have, He is indeed graceful, otherwise, how could somebody to whom all powers belong [Psalm 62:11-12] fight everyday with little ole me, weak with absolutely no measurable form of power, and still let me rise up every day to confront Him, to engage in a new titanic battle which He wins ALL the time.
All known tricks are employed by me, including blackmail, guilt tripping, cajoling, bribery, negotiation, victim card, threats, lies, cheating, oppression, kidnapping, adultery, and even murdering His family members. There is no low that I do not sink to, in my battle against God.
Despite the fact that, in a blink of His eye, He could destroy me, make me disappear into oblivion, He does not, instead, day after day, He gently wakes me up, so softly, so lovingly with a touch lighter than that of a dawn feather, knowing fully well that as soon as He wakes me up, I would start fighting Him again.
When you read His autobiography (The Bible), you will discover that I am not the only one He wrestles, in Genesis 32:22-32, He fought Jacob, in Habakkuk chapters 1 to 3, He wrestles Habakkuk, in the epistle of Paul to the Romans chapter 8, verses 5-11, Paul describes the battles in metaphoric terms.
In all these, I am grateful to God, that He chose me to be among those He fights daily. I can not imagine the lives of those that are not involved in a daily battle with God. And if His autobiography is anything to go by, He never gives up on any of His children, For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! [Romans 5:10].
