1 Chronicles 29:17; I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity.
James 1:13-14; When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.
Mathew 4:1; Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[The Greek for tempted can also mean tested.] by the devil.
Mathew 4:7; Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[Deuteronomy 6:16; Do not put the Lord your God to the test as you did at Massah.]”
Mathew 6:13; And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Job 1:6; Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.
Job 1:12; And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
Isaiah 45:6-7; so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.
God test the heart. God in the flesh [as Jesus Christ] has been tempted by the devil, but the devil has not succeeded. God cannot be tempted. God can allow a man to be tempted by an entity to whom God has outsourced the task of temptation. Though it doesn’t mean that He, God will allow temptation to take place, or to occur beyond the limits of the man. Because, on such occasions, God sets the parameters and limits of the temptation.
