Galatians 2:11-13; When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.
However, Paul himself bend to the precepts of the Law with regards to the physical setting apart of Jews from Gentiles through circumcision, so much so that he subjected Timothy [a half-Jew: father was Greek, Mother Jew] to circumcision in order for Timothy to accompany him and be accepted fully by other Jews on his missionary journeys. See Acts 16:1-4. This occurred, way before Paul wrote the epistle to the Galatians.
In light of this, that is Paul’s critique of Peter in Galatians’ epistle, one might refer to what God as the Son said in Mathew 7:1-3; “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
