Is God a man or a woman?

What is the purpose or goal of genderization?

Going through the Scriptures, most especially the beginning, we discover that the first chapter gives us a kind of introduction to the origin of the universe, but not to that of God, which is kind of obvious, given that God has no beginning and no end. This chapter also tells us about the beginning of man and his place in the universe. Subsequently, chapter two goes into the ‘how’, pertaining to the creation of man. Firstly, the male, and given that God does not want the man to be alone, He created the female from the male.

The same God that created millions of species of plants and animals, should be able to continue to create from the dust, finite or infinite numbers of a particular specie, such as man. However, God decided on genderization for some specific purposes, such as companionship and later after expelling man from “the garden”, procreation (populating of the physical universe), in the physical universe. The physical universe is observable through the five sensory organs, while the Spiritual universe is unseen, 2 Corinthians 4:18; So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. So we have God’s account of the creation of man, that goes as follow, Genesis 2:7; Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2:18; The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:20-22; But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The summary of the process was documented earlier in Genesis 1:26-27; Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

So, what are the mechanics of populating the spiritual universe? Luke 20:34-36; Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection. This tells us that neither marriage nor sexual intercourse within or outside marriage, is necessary for procreation, in order to populate the spiritual universe. Rather populating the spiritual universe is by means of adoption to sonship, Ephesians 1:4-5; For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will. Precisely what Jesus Christ explained to Nicodemus in John 3:3, 5-6; Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

From the above, we can conclude that God is neither man nor woman, even though He created mankind in His image for the purpose of maintaining this physical universe. God is spirit [John 4:24] and can not be perceived through our ‘normal’ five senses, unless on special occasions He chooses to communicate with selected persons through any media and or sensory organ of His choice. Genderization is something necessary for maintaining this physical universe, and is totally redundant and unrequired in the spiritual realm.
